Aura — Your AI Trading Coach
Most trading journals are good at showing you what happened. Almost none of them tell you why — or more importantly, what pattern you keep repeating that's costing you money.
Aura does exactly that. Once you've logged 10 closed trades, Aura analyzes your behavior and strategy performance to surface patterns you probably haven't noticed. Things like:
- "You win 68% of your morning trades but lose on every trade after 2pm — your edge is concentrated in the first two hours."
- "Your short-side trades lose 2.3x more on average than your longs. You're better at picking direction up than down."
- "Trades tagged 'Momentum' are profitable 71% of the time. Trades tagged 'Reversal' are -12% net over 6 months."
These aren't generic trading tips — they're your patterns, from your data, written in plain English. Aura updates as you log new trades, so the insight stays current with how you're actually trading today, not six months ago.
Aura is free to try — every user sees the first insight. Premium users get the full analysis on every update.
Trading Strategies — Know Which Setups Actually Work
If you trade more than one setup, you already know the problem: your overall P&L hides which setups are carrying the weight. Maybe you're a great breakout trader and a mediocre reversal trader, but because they're mixed in the same account, you can't tell.
5.0 introduces Trading Strategies. Tag every trade with a strategy — Momentum, Breakout, Reversal, Scalp, or your own custom playbook — and TradeZap breaks down your performance per strategy:
- Win rate for each setup, so you know which ones pay
- Net P&L per strategy, so you see the dollar-level contribution
- Profit factor, expectancy, and streak tracking — the metrics trading journals usually charge you extra for
The default five strategies ship with every install. Free users can create two custom strategies; Pro unlocks unlimited.
This is the feature most likely to change how you trade. We've had early users realize they should stop trading a whole category of setups entirely because the numbers made it obvious.
Emotions Tracking — Discipline Becomes a Habit
Ask any losing trader why they're losing, and the answer is almost never "bad analysis." It's "I revenge-traded after a loss" or "I held too long because I didn't want to admit I was wrong" or "I FOMO'd into the top."
Emotions is how TradeZap helps you catch those moments before you hit the button.
- Pre-trade check-in. When you go to log a new trade, TradeZap asks how you're feeling. Focused? Frustrated? Overconfident after a win streak? It takes two seconds.
- Smart warnings. If your emotional state matches patterns that historically precede losses (revenge after a big red day, FOMO during a rally, fear after a drawdown), TradeZap warns you before you confirm the trade.
- Emotion-performance mapping. Over time, you'll see which emotional states are actually profitable for you — some traders perform better when they're cautious, others when they're aggressive. The data tells you yours.
You can't fix what you don't measure. Most traders never measure their state.
Advanced Stats on Home
The Home screen got smarter too. Alongside the existing Win Rate and Net P&L, we've added:
- Profit Factor — gross wins divided by gross losses. Above 1.5 is solid. Above 2.0 is pro-level.
- Expectancy — the average dollars you expect to make per trade. Tells you if your system has a positive edge even when win rate is below 50%.
- Streak tracking — consecutive wins or losses, with a live counter so you know when you're on a hot (or cold) run.
These are the metrics serious traders actually care about. They unlock as soon as you have a meaningful sample size.
Calendar P&L Stays Free — Forever
We made a conscious call with 5.0: the daily P&L calendar heatmap and monthly total are retention data, not conversion data. That's how you answer "how am I doing this month?" and it should never be behind a paywall.
Every user sees every day's P&L and every month's total, forever, at every trade count. Advanced analytics like Profit Factor, Expectancy, and Streak tracking are the paid-tier upgrades — the basic "am I winning?" answer is always free.
A Genuinely Generous Free Tier
We bumped the free-tier trade cap from 20 to 250 trades. That's enough for most part-time traders to use TradeZap for months before even seeing the paywall. Win rate, P&L calendar, core stats, all four asset classes, broker import, and cloud sync — all in the free tier.
